William Blaine “Bill” Spicer, age 88, a New Castle resident passed away Monday, October 4, 2021 at his residence following a long battle with cancer. He was born September 20, 1933 in New Castle and was the son of the late Eldridge and Bertha Sayre Spicer.
Bill was a New Castle resident most of his life. He served an enlistment with the United States Navy and served in the Korean War. Bill had worked for Grede Foundry, Perfect Circle, the City of New Castle, also, he had worked as a psychiatric nurse. He loved family activities. He was an avid fan of fishing but mostly he would catch and release the fish he caught. He enjoyed hobbies and interests throughout his life. He was a member of the Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall in New Castle.
He is survived by his wife, Vesta Faye West Spicer; children, Vickie Lynn (husband, Mike) Cross of Texas, Christine (husband, Randy) Wyatt of Florida, William Blaine Spicer, Jr., of Knightstown, Indiana; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Juanita Spicer Stemper and Marvin Spicer; a daughter-in-law, Toni Dobbs Spicer of New Castle, Indiana; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and siblings, Harvey Spicer, Finley Spier, and Marilyn Spicer.
Zoom funeral services by invitation only will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 9, 2021. ID and password will be provided by the Spicer family.
