Ward Wayne Slack, age 97, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, September 17, 2021, at Reid Hospital.
He was born May 26, 1924, in Piqua, Ohio. Ward was preceded in death by his wife of 63 years, Lois Lucille Slack, and is survived by two children, Deanna Carter, and Steven Slack; four grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and three step-great-grandchildren.
Ward served in World War II with the 66th Division in France, Germany, and Austria and attended many reunions of the Division after retiring from Stant Corporation of Connersville, Indiana in 1988. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Richmond and a 32nd Degree Mason.
Doan & Mills Funeral Home will assist the family with arrangements and visitation will be from 10:00 am – 11:30 am on Wednesday, September 22, 2021, with a graveside service at 1:45 pm in Fletcher Cemetery, Fletcher, Ohio, with Pastor Ted Chalk officiating.
