Virginia Lorene Hall, age 88, a New Castle resident, went home to be with the Lord and her loving husband on Monday, July 5, 2021. She was at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born August 30, 1932 in Clinton County, Kentucky a daughter of the late George and Estelle Brown Ferguson. Lorene was a high school graduate. She was a homemaker and treasured being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Lorene was an active member of Smyrna Missionary Baptist Church in Spiceland. She was an outstanding example of a Christian woman and credits her beautiful life to the influence she received from her parents. She grew up on a farm and helpful with all the chores and understood what hard work was “all about,” and being a team player. Her parents were wonderful example of Christians for her to follow.
Lorene attended church regularly and had the benefit of daily Christian devotions and prayer. She will be remembered as a wonderful Christian woman with a beautiful smile and always having her heart open for anyone in need. She enjoyed family activities and making her very famous blackberry jam that she shared with family and friends.
Left to cherish her loving memory include a daughter, Joanie Stevens (husband, Rick) of Indianapolis, Indiana; two grandsons, Chase Pemberton of Indianapolis and Ethan Pemberton of Auburn Hills, Michigan; three bonus grandchildren, Aaron and Collin Stevens, Priscilla Hansen, all of Flint, Michigan; four great-grandchildren; one uncle, Arthur Brown of Kentucky. Also, many nieces, nephews, and cousins including nephew, Donald Pennycuff of Albany, Kentucky and nieces, Barbara Johnson of Spiceland, Indiana, Carolyn Huddleston and Shirley Pennycuff, both of New Castle.
Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John Hall; five siblings, Irene and Murlene Pennycuff, Gordon, Glen, and Gene Ferguson; two nephews, Howard and Ronnie Pennycuff.
The family of Lorene Hall wish to express their heartfelt appreciation to the staff of Raintree Square for the love and tender care they gave during her illness.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, with Brother Larry Delon and Brother Jim Anderson officiating.
