Violet Maxine Fowble Terhaar passed away at home, peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021.
Violet was born Oct. 4, 1926 in Darke County, Ohio to Raymond and Mable (Kenworthy) Fowble.
Violet was united in marriage on Oct. 19, 1946 to Thomas Terhaar and to that union came 7 sons and 1 daughter: Daryl (Lou Ann) , Bill (Debbie) , Bob (Charlotte), Jerry , Ed ( Sherry) , Charlie ( Susan) , Steve ( Vickie) and Debra ( Scott) Sharp.
Violet was blessed with 18 Grandchildren: Jeff Terhaar, Jennifer (Brook) Crist, Jacob Terhaar, Angie ( Chris) Siegrist, Camera ( Paul) Clum, Brittney (Jason Burns) Terhaar, Casey ( Tim) Pequignot, Cristy Terhaar, Cara ( Kurt) Bowlin, Cody Terhaar, Nick (Jennifer Doss) Terhaar, Cherie (Scott) Patterson, Matt (Kelly) Terhaar, Brian (Lacey) Terhaar, Travis (Grace) Terhaar, Brooke (JD) Prescott, Austin Davis and Whitney Sharp.
In addition, Violet is survived by 28 Great Grandchildren and 1 due in May: Hudson, Blake, Savanna, Loralei, Koltyn, Kayleigh, Tye, Emma, Tyler, Cayden, Neeley, Landon, Kennedy, Reagan, Lexi, Hunter, Destiny, Gabe, Landan, Brynlee, Preslei, Cooper, Henry, Wren, Evelyn, Grayson, Graham, and Victoria; 1 Great, Great Grandson Easton; 1 sister Bonnie Cole; 5 sisters in law: Anna ( Larry) Tornes, Rose Staight, Elsie Terhaar, Jean Terhaar and Eileen Terhaar; 1 brother in law Joe Terhaar and many nieces and nephews
Violet is proceeded in death by her husband, Tom, parents, a brother Byron Fowble, granddaughter Laci Terhaar and a great grandson, Beckett Terhaar.
Violet’s greatest joy was her family and she was extremely devoted to them. She also enjoyed gardening and working along side Tom on their family farm.
Violet retired from Union School Corp after 27 years and faithfully attended Carlos Christian Church.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 PM on Tuesday, January 5, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will be at 11 AM Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will be in Economy Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Heart to Heart Hospice or Carlos Christian Church.
