Vince Jerome Brown (affectionately known to others as “Vinny”) was born August 19, 1966 in Tuscumbia, AL. Vince was born to parents, the late Hollis Edell Brown Sr. and Josephine Brown. Vince departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 20, 2021 after a long illness.
Vince accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at New Hope Baptist Church in Richmond, IN and later became a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. When he moved to Evansville in 2007, he became a member of Nazarene Missionary Baptist Church, where he faithfully served as a Greeter and was a member of Men’s Gospel Chorus.
Vince attended Richmond High School and he acquired a love for sports, especially football. His favorite NCAA sports team was the Louisville Cardinals. One of his fondest memories involving sports was he visiting his best friend, John Brown, at Winston-Salem during football season. He also worked at Mosey Manufacturing and was head grill chef at Jerry’s Restaurant.
Vince is survived by: his sons, Deion Brown, Greer, South Carolina and Vince LaTrell Brown, Richmond, IN and 13 grandchildren with former wife, Regina Brown; step-son, Christopher Clark, Centerville, IN; beloved and devoted mother, Josephine Brown, Evansville, IN; siblings Ricky Lewis, Rochester, NY; Gabra E. Williams, Rochester, NY; Reginald Brown, Richmond, IN; Michael (Shannon) Brown, Richmond, IN; Dr. Marilyn (Byron) Robinson, Columbus, OH. Vince also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins to cherish his memory.
