Velana Kay Walker (Vicki) age 69, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at 12:46 a.m. at Christ Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio.

She was born to George Walker and Katrinka Robinson on January 26, 1951 in Connersville, Indiana. She resided in Richmond, Indiana for 16 years and was fondly known for greeting customers and engaging friends at both Veaches Toy Station and Woolworth Department Store. Vicki moved to Cincinnati, Ohio in 1989 and worked for IGA Kroger for 27 years and worked for the past 5 years at Talbert House where she served as a Residential Advisor, working with Hamilton County Drug Court to assist with the rehabilitation of women.

Vicki enjoyed serving others in whatever capacity they needed and shared her knowledge and wisdom with those who would listen. She was the matriarch of her family and exhibited the true meaning of “Unconditional Love.” She had a passion for life and enjoyed taking family vacations to Clearwater Beach, Florida where she enjoyed putting her feet in the ocean and watching the dolphins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George Walker and Katrinka Robinson; her other mother, Peggy Floyd; her sister, Vanessa Upchurch; and her brother, Harold Floyd, Jr (Snooky).

Surviving are her sister and best friend, Charlene Howard, her niece Shenita Bolton (Brian); nephews Lamar Walker and DeMarco “Dante” Howard (Crystal); her great nieces, Keyanna Vann (Terrance), Chaslyn Piper, Divine Tapplar, and Deven Brown; great nephew, DeMarco Howard, Jr.; cherished aunt, Adell Thomas; cherished aunt, Rebecca Shackleford (Phillip “Shack”) cherished cousin, Tonya Gonzalez; cherished friend, Gerald “Fats” Williams and a host of other special aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Due to COVID-19 concerns, the family has postponed her Memorial Service and Celebration of Life until late spring or early summer.
