Thomas Henry Haining, 90, of Hagerstown, died at his home on Tuesday, July 27, 2021. He was born in Evanston, IL on March 21, 1931 to Thomas D. and Beatrice (Sandkohl) Haining. He had resided in Hagerstown for the past 35 years.

In 1946, he became the first Eagle Scout from the Chicago Council. Tom was a 1949 graduate of Lane Tech High School and a graduate of University of Illinois. He served with the US Army in Korea and was a member of American Legion Post 333. He was a retired employee of Lowes in Richmond and worked as a general contractor for many years.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Haining; 5 children, Scott (Annette) Haining, Wes (Diana) Haining, Mark Haining; Bonnie Clemenci and Teri Barton; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 PM on Saturday, July 31, at Culberson Funeral Home, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 4 PM. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family in Nettle Creek Friends Cemetery. Online condolences may be left at www.culbersonfh.com
