Stephen F. Perseponko, Richmond, age 82, passed away on Friday November 12, 2021 at Reid Health. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on August 30, 1939 to Stephen and Pauline Moore Perseponko. Stephen graduated from Richmond High School and went on to earn his Associates Degree. He was raised in the catholic church and was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion. Stephen had a career in the US Military and after being honorably discharged worked at Naval Avionics in Indianapolis for many years before moving back to Richmond when he retired. He was an avid dog lover, enjoyed traveling all over the world and had spent a lot of time studying the family’s Hungarian heritage. Stephen will be dearly missed by family and friends who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his nephews Anthony Perseponko and Michael (Laura) Perseponko; niece Jan Ellen Parker; great nieces and nephews Andria Perseponko, Karah Perseponko, Brooke (Matt) Railsback, Miranda (Wade) VanCamp, Ella Jo Parker and Eric Jay Parker. Stephen is preceded in death by his mother and father; brother Joseph Perseponko, great niece Destiney Perseponko and great nephew Sydney McDaniel.
The Wayne County honor guard will perform military rites at 1:00 P.M at Saint Mary Cemetery on Friday November 19, 2021. A committal service will follow officiated by Father John Luerman Visitation will be held from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M. on Friday November 19, 2021 at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
