Sharon A. Reynolds, age 73, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, March 4, 2021, surrounded by her children and the deep love of her siblings.

Born April 16, 1947, in Richmond, Indiana, to Guy and Mary Rose Mercurio Vecera, Sharon was a life-long resident of this community. She was a 1965 graduate of Richmond High School, where she was the editor of the yearbook her senior year. Sharon graduated from the Richmond School of Practical Nursing in 1967. She furthered her nursing career by obtaining her ASN degree from I.U. East with honors in 1993. Sharon was loved by many and spent much of her life giving to others as a nurse. She spent the latter part of her nursing career serving as an RN at Reid Hospital’s Emergency Department and previously worked in long-term care for many years, including working as a marketing director for New Castle Healthcare Center, where she was recognized for establishing a GED program at a local nursing home. Sharon was a devout Catholic and had so much faith. She was a freelance writer and enjoyed traveling, dancing, and music. Sharon was very proud to be a nurse, mother, and grandmother.

Survivors include her children, Gina (Doug) Glass of Richmond and Greg Reynolds of Cincinnati, Ohio; grandson, Jason Glass of Richmond; sisters, Denise (James) Snow of Richmond and Linda (Pat) O’Malley of Centerville, Ohio; brothers, Guy “Sonny” Vecera of Texas and Joseph Vecera of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends, including dear friend, Nancy Rankin.

She was preceded in death by her parents and infant sisters, Joan and Suzanne Vecera.

Visitation for Sharon A. Reynolds will be from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at Doan and Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Liturgy of Christian Burial will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 9, 2021, at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 235 South 5th Street, Richmond, with Fr. Sengole T. Gnanaraj officiating. Please plan to wear your own mask in the funeral home and church. Burial will be in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
