Born July 10, 1971, in Richmond, Indiana, to Emmanuel and Barbara Bond Grimes, Scott was a life-long resident of this community. He graduated from Richmond High School in 1989. Scott was the owner of Alpha Dent Removal. He was a member of Christ United Church. Scott enjoyed creating knives, traveling, and making tools. He was always happy, loved life, and would do anything for others. Family was everything to Scott. He was a loving father, grandfather, son, and brother.
Survivors include his daughter, Jordyn (Jacob) Ansel of Richmond; stepchildren, Ashley (Nate) Wright of New Castle, Indiana, Shawn (Mindy) Wampler of Economy, Indiana, and James (Tabitha) Dickerson of Jacksonville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Sloane, Scout, Kamdyn, and Rilynn; mother, Barbara Grimes of Richmond; sister, Kimberly Pennington (Shawna Davis) of San Diego, California; aunts; uncles; cousins; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 13 years, Erica L. Finch McCarty-Grimes, who died January 30, 2020, and father.
Memorial visitation for Scott Allan Grimes will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Christ United Church, 3430 Backmeyer Road, Richmond. A Celebration of Life will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Christ United Church with Pastor Brett Karanovich officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
