Ruth Evelyn Kurtz, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Reid Health.

Born April 28, 1928, in Eaton, Ohio, to Michael A. and Alice Murphy Marsio Jr., Ruth was a life-long resident of Richmond. She retired from Cox’s Supermarket, after working as a deli cook/employee for 22 years. Ruth loved her church, Christ United Church, where she was a member. Ruth enjoyed working in her flower beds, playing bingo, solving puzzles, and going out to eat with her friends from church. Above all else, Ruth loved the Lord and her family.

Survivors include her son, Joseph Michael (Brenda) Kurtz of Richmond; stepson, William L. (Judy) Kurtz Jr. of Liberty, Indiana; grandchildren, April Whalen of Centerville, Indiana, Heather (Brian) Noll and Adam Kurtz, both of Richmond, and Robbie Sanford (Dionea), Alexandria (John) Roemke, and Christopher Sanford, all of Indianapolis, Indiana; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins; brothers-in-law, Arthur J. Kurtz, Robert Donovan, and Edwin Tucker; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, William L. Kurtz Sr.; daughter, Sandi Sanford; three grandchildren; parents; stepmother, Mary Marsio; sisters, Ann Conti, Janet Bullock, Delia De Noma, Catherine Donovan, and Mary Fowl; and brothers, Jim, Mike, and Frankie Marsio.

Visitation for Ruth Evelyn Kurtz will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Christ United Church, 3430 Backmeyer Road, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, 2021, at Christ United Church with Pastor Brett Karanovich officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
