Robert E. Barnes, 81, of Winchester, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021, at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on January 23, 1940, in Lynn, IN, to Oscar and Virginia (Shockney) Barnes.
Robert was a graduate of Spartanburg High School. He served with the Indiana National Guard. Robert worked maintenance at Wick’s Pies for over 40 years, and he owned and operated Worley Barnes Heating and Cooling. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge in Winchester and former member of the Winchester Moose Lodge.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Marcia Shook; two granddaughters, Gabrielle (Bill) Decker and Amanda Shook; 4 great grandchildren, Alice Gibson, Sebastian Barret, Brodie Decker and Eloise Decker; a brother, David Barnes; two sisters, Mary Lawhorn and Patricia (Danny) Christ; and several nieces and nephews.
Robert is preceded in death by his wife, Sondra Sue (Worley) Barnes; his parents; a brother, Kenneth Barnes; and sister, Ruth Ann Elliott.
A service to celebrate Robert’s life will be at 2:00 p.m., on Saturday, November 6, 2021, at the Walker Funeral Home. Burial will follow at the Spartanburg Cemetery.
