Rissie W. Purcell 96 of Boston died October 14, 2021, at Arbor Trace. She was born December 8, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky to Clennie and Lilly Rimmel Sigmon and has lived in Boston since 1950. She retired from Berman’s Drug Store. She was a member of the Boston United Church of Christ and the American Legion Post #315 Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include two sons Ronny Purcell and Jerry (Mary) Purcell of Richmond, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, twenty-two great-great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Rissie’s husband William Walker Purcell died in 1975, she is also preceded in death by her son Denny Purcell, two daughters Billie Faye Brann, and Darlene Purcell, two brothers Robert and Ralph Sigmon, one sister Ruby Wedge, and her special friend Frank Adams.
Funeral services for Rissie will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 23, 2021, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home with Rev. Malcolm Greene officiating. Burial will be in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call Friday, October 22, 2021, from 4:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
