Rev. Eugene Calicott 91 of Richmond passed away January 21, 2021, at the Springs of Richmond. He was born September 7, 1929, in Cove, Arkansas, to Archie B. and Ida Ona Gladden Calicott and lived in Richmond for the last 41 years.

He was an Army Veteran.

He was an electrician prior to accepting the call to become a full-time minister; he and his family traveled throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and Guatemala; preaching the Word of God and teaching Faith. Through the course of his ministry, he pioneered and pastored several churches; including Bethel Chapel Church in Richmond, where he pastored until his resignation in 2019. He had a true servant’s heart, which he has shared with all of those who had an opportunity to know him.

He is survived by his two daughters Annette (Calicott) Setser, Rebekah (Carl) Rogers both of Richmond, two grandsons, Trent (Lauren) Rogers, Eric (Anna) Rogers, one great-grandson Charles, his brother in law, John Liles, two sisters in laws Wanda Snitker, Marie Calicott, several nieces, nephews, and friends across the country.

He is preceded in death by his parents and his wife of sixty-six years Florece, who died in 2017, six brothers, Oren, Irvin, Almer, William, Merrill, Delano

Services will be 1:00 PM Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at Bethel Chapel, with Rev. Danny Hudson officiating; burial will be in Goshen Cemetery with military rites. Friends may call from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Church. Funeral and visitation will be limited to 25 people, at a time, in accordance with county restrictions for COVID-19 and all visitors are required to wear masks.
