Randy H. Brewster, 68, of Straughn passed away Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Johnson City Medical Center in Johnson City, Tennessee. He was born November 22, 1952 in New Castle to the late Hollan H. and Eva Mae (Shelton) Brewster.

Randy was a 1971 graduate of Blue River Valley High school and later went on to Covenant Foundation College and earned his Bachelor’s degree in 1975. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Opening day of deer season with his son, grandsons and nephew was a highlight every year, along with regular fishing excursions with his cousin, Mike. Randy enjoyed monthly trips to his cabin in North Carolina, trout fishing in the Appalachian Mountains.

He carried on the family tradition of Sorghum making each year that his father started over 50 years ago along with an annual Brown County trip that included his kids and grandkids. Gardening became a passion after retirement. Family and traditions with his family always came first to Randy. Randy always took time for his community, friends and neighbors. He was the Vice President of Operations for Sports Graphics in Indianapolis from 1986-2000. Randy was founder and CEO of Tri-State Forestry Services, Inc. from 2005-2018, when he retired.

He is survived by his wife, Jennie Brewster of Straughn; children, Tricia Haler of Marshall, north Carolina, Trent (Brandy) Brewster of New Castle, Kevin (Janet) Johnson of Straughn; grandchildren, Kaitlyn Johnson, Eva Haler, Addyson Johnson, Clayton Haler, Sam, Wyatt, Luke and John Brewster; great grandchild, Mila Rascon; sisters, Susan (Raymond) Geise of New Castle and Cynthia Brewster of Spiceland; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents.

Services will be at 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 27, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Thursday, August 26 at the funeral home.
