Phyllis Kay Green, 80, Largo, Florida, passed away Thursday evening November 4, 2021 at her home in Largo, Florida.  A daughter of the late Willard Howard and Ethel Garnell (Davis) Barnes, Phyllis was born in Cambridge City, Indiana on February 19, 1941.  She was raised in the Cambridge City and Dublin communities and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1959.  While in high school, Phyllis was active in the choir program and through this involvement, she would meet Norman Green of Liberty, who would become her future husband.  Following their marriage, Norman joined the Navy and they lived in California for many years.  They eventually moved back to Liberty, Indiana and have lived in Florida for the past 18 years.  Phyllis was a member of the Liberty Church of Christ. She was a gifted artist with a special talent in oil painting.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and enjoyed traveling throughout the country with her husband.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 62 years, Norman Dale Green, whom she married on December 6, 1959 at the Liberty Church of Christ; 4 children, Norman Green Jr. of Washington, Cynthia Millican of Indiana, Gary (Connie) Green of Ohio and Tricia (David) Smith of Florida; 9 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 3 siblings, Warren “Mick” Barnes, Willard “Bud” Barnes and Carol Sue Williams; nieces and nephews.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her daughter in-law, Deborah Green in September of 2021; 6 siblings, Billy Barnes, Mary Cundiff, Roselyn Callis, Joan Hunt, Juanita Lakes and Betty Ingermann.

Private funeral services will be held at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home in Dublin.   Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Cambridge City.
