Patricia Pope Stinson, age 71, of New Castle, passed away following a year long battle with metastatic breast cancer, on Tuesday, February 2, 2021.

She was born January 22, 1950, in Kingston, Tennessee to Fred and Lillie Mae (Brewster) Pope. Patricia grew up in Hagerstown, graduating in 1968. She loved to travel and lived in many different places. She had an adventurous life working retail, driving semis cross country, and being a security guard.

Patricia loved talking about God, spending time with family, thrift store shopping, and drinking coffee on the porch, watching the birds. She was always happy to sit and chat with anyone about God or her beloved family.

She is survived by the joy of her life, her son James “Paul” Stinson and his wife Leah. She lived with them most of the last year and it was a blessing to them all. Also by her seven grandchildren also: Nate Combs, Jacob Stinson, Jake Combs, Lucas Stinson, Brady Stinson, William Combs, and Allison Stinson. She was proud of them all and loved them very much. She is also survived by her sisters, Linda Brown and Jewel Pope; her brother, James Pope; many special nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and friends will also miss Patricia.

Preceding her in death were both parents, an infant sister, Margie Sue Pope, a brother Kenny Pope, and 2 sisters, Alma Abell and Annie Starling.

Visitation will be 12 PM to 2 PM of Saturday, February 6, at Culberson Funeral Home. Services will follow at 2 PM. Pastor Roger Hendricks will officiate. Burial will be in West Lawn Cemetery.
