Born April 11, 1932, in Cambellstown, Ohio, to Lester and Mildred Johnston Gephart, Patricia lived in Wayne County, Indiana, most of her life until moving to Maryland to be closer to her son in 2020. She graduated from Kitchel High School in 1950 and was a 1953 graduate of the Reid Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. Patricia was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. She enjoyed growing flowers.
Survivors include her son, James “Jim” (Julie) Kempton of Ellicott City, Maryland; granddaughters, Katherine and Grace; sister, Betty Harlan of Richmond, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, John Marshall Kempton, who died May 26, 2015; son, Robert Marshall Kempton, who died March 12, 2017; parents; and sister, Phyllis Gephart.
Graveside service for Patricia J. Kempton will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 20, 2021, at West Grove Cemetery in Centerville with Rev. Dr. Daniel L. Nugent officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
