Webster – Michael “Mike” Julian Johnson was welcomed into Heaven on Saturday, 30 October 2021, after a short illness at the age of 63. He was born in Richmond, Indiana to Julian and Ramona (née Barker) Johnson on 26 February 1958 and attended Whitewater Elementary School and Northeastern Jr./Sr. High School, graduating in 1977. He married Victoria “Vikki” Hawkins on 10 October 1987. They have two sons, Ryan (Ana) Johnson and Evan Johnson, and two grandchildren: Ben and Elena. Mike was a resident of Webster, Indiana from 1987 until his passing, at Reid Memorial Hospital.

He was the founder, owner, and operator of A-Plus Service, Inc in 1989, and provided HVAC services to thousands of families in the region. His son, Evan, will continue to operate the business with the same dedication Mike brought to customers for more than 3 decades.

Mike was an avid volunteer, serving in a variety of roles in the Webster Volunteer Fire Department, Webster Township Advisory Board, Richmond Civic Theatre, and Lifespring Church. At both the theater and at church, he designed lighting which amazed and enthralled audiences, supporting either the actors’ performances or the congregation’s engagement with their Creator.

In his free time, Mike loved to explore the great outdoors on his ATV, including countless trips to Idaho, Utah, Wisconsin and West Virginia with his friends and family. Mike loved to take spontaneous jeep rides with Vikki to get ice cream, to the drive-in, or just to take a ride. A recent highlight was Mike and Vikki driving the “Tail of the Dragon” in Tennessee. He felt closest to God in nature.

Mike is survived by his wife Vikki, sons Ryan (Ana) and Evan, grandchildren Ben and Elena, his father Julian, his brother Bruce (Renee), numerous nephews and nieces, and by innumerable friends and customers, who are often the same people. He is preceded in death by his mother, Ramona.

The calling will be at Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home in Fountain City on Wednesday, 3 November from 4-7 pm, and the funeral will be on Thursday, 4 November at 11 am at Lifespring Church in Fountain City. Mike will be interred at the cemetery in Webster, Indiana.

In lieu of flowers, the family would welcome donations made in Mike’s name to the Lifespring Church Worship Arts program.
