Michael D. Hess, 76, of Cambridge City, passed away on Monday May 10, 2021 at Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born on April 15, 1945 in Middletown, Ohio to Roland and Theresa (Hurr) Hess. He graduated from Lemon-Monroe H.S. in Monroe, Ohio in 1963 and lived most of his life in Ohio. Michael retired from the Dayton Ohio Fire Dept. were he was a master mechanic. After retiring he moved to Cambridge City, where he enjoyed working on the grounds of the Huddleston House and mowing for churches in the community.
Michael is survived by his two children, Michael (Armanda) Hess and Amy (Aaron) Hamm; two grandchildren, Brenden (Lindsay) Turner and Russell Hess; two brothers, Don (Sue) Hess and Russ Hess; nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise and a sister-in-law, Joan Hess.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday June 5, 2021 at 11 AM at Zions Lutheran Church, 1151 S. Germantown Rd., Pershing, Indiana and a luncheon will be held following the service. Arrangements are entrusted to Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City.
