Mary Ann McKillip, 91, formerly of Richmond, passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at Spring Mill Meadows in Indianapolis, Indiana. She was born on November 24, 1929 in Marshalltown, Iowa to James & Ruth Crosby.

She graduated from Mercy Hospital School of Nursing in Des Moines, Iowa in 1951. On December 27, 1952, she married James McKillip in Des Moines, Iowa and they were married for 44 years. The family moved to Richmond, Indiana in 1960.

Mary Ann is survived by her three sons Jack (Nancy) of Phoenix, AZ, Jimi of Ennis, MT/ Key West FL, Joe (Brenda) of Charleston, SC; daughter Jane (John) Vogt of Auburn, IN; son-in-law John Chappo of Indianapolis, IN; eight grandchildren Joan McKillip, John (Rachel) McKillip, John (Beth) Chappo, James (Megan) Chappo, Jeff (Maggie) Chappo, Meghan (Garrett) Burkley, Andrea (Alex) Jackson, Lauren (Chris) Fox; ten great-grandchildren Stella Stefus, Maude & Lewis McKillip, Chase, Campbell & Calvin Chappo, Conor Chappo, Marlie Chappo, Eli & Noah Burkley, Nolan Jackson, Finn Fox.

She is preceded in death by her husband James McKillip (1997), infant daughter Joan McKillip (1960), and daughter Julia Chappo (2020). Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her parents, brother William and sister Margaret.

Mary Ann was a stay at home mom who prioritized raising her family. In 1976 she
returned to work as an RN at Reid Hospital where she worked until retirement in 1992. She was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church and was a very active participant in the parish, including bible study, funeral dinners, the wellness, and caring ministry as well as being a Eucharistic Minister. Her hobbies included golf, needlework, quilting and, playing bridge and euchre. After she retired she worked in respite care.

Private services will be held at a later date.
