Martha P. Tischuk, age 100, of Richmond, Indiana, died Thursday, November 25, 2021, at Reid Health.

Born November 24, 1921, in Wilkinsburg, Pennsylvania, to Alexander and Martha Davage Pye, Martha moved to Richmond from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, in 1963. She was a 1943 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and earned her master’s degree from Ball State University in 1968. Martha retired from Vaile Elementary School in Richmond in 1982, after 19 years of service, and formerly taught in Pittsburgh. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church. Martha was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star Chapter #49, Tarum Shrine Ladies, Social Order of the Beauceant, Delta Kappa Gamma Society, Wayne County Retired Teachers Association, and Ex-Teachers’ Club.

Survivors include her daughters, Martha (Price) Glazer of Fishers, Indiana, and Eva (Max) Bailey of Richmond; son, Alex (Mary Ann) Tischuk of Dubuque, Iowa; nine grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 42 years, Walter Tischuk, who died December 3, 1989, and parents.

Visitation for Martha P. Tischuk will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor LydiaGrace Gray officiating.
