Martha J. Snapp, 94, of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, November 24, at Reid Health.
Martha was born on April 27, 1927 in Wayne County, Indiana to Robert & Emily Jane Johnson Duke. She was a graduate of Williamsburg High School.
Martha worked at the former Montgomery Ward in downtown Richmond. She later went to work at Belden, from where she retired after 28 years of service. Martha enjoyed watching Colts football. She was a member of the former Williamsburg United Methodist Church and was a 75-year member of Order of Eastern Star. She enjoyed spending time at the Richmond Senior Center.
Martha will be missed by her 4 sons, Dennis Cox and his wife, Kathy, Jim Cox and his wife, Diana, Dean Snapp and his wife, Shari, and Kim Snapp & his companion, Jenny Cassidy; 9 grandchildren, 2 step-grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 4 step-great-grandchildren; sister, Nancy Durbin and nieces & nephews.
Martha was preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Earl E. Cox in 1952; second husband, Gilford Snapp in 2012; sisters, Ellen Paul, Freda Hall and 1 infant sister; brother, Shirley Duke.
A funeral ceremony will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 29, at the Smith-McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US 27 South, Fountain City. Interment will follow in Williamsburg Cemetery.
Family & friends may gather for visitation from 12-2 p.m. on Monday, November 29, at the funeral home.
