Marshall J. Rowlette, age 96, Richmond, passed away at Reid Health on November 13, 2021. He was born July 28, 1925, the son of Fred David Rowlette and Mary Louise Janney, in Muncie, Indiana; where his ancestors were the founding fathers.

Marshall was a resident of Wayne County. He loved music, traveling and sharing stories about his life.

Marshall was a graduate of Muncie High School. He was a marathon runner since the age of 14, and on the Muncie High Track Team and later the Indiana University Track Team. He had placed 3rd position in the Boston Marathon in the 1950’s.

Marshall began a career for Eastern Airlines; shortly thereafter he was drafted in the United States Army. He done his training at Camp Gordon, Georgia, and was stationed at Camp San Luis Obispo, California, where he was a Phys Ed trainer. He was in the Army from 1951-1957, and was honorably discharged.

Following his military career, he went back to Eastern Airlines. Marshall loved his job and learned every aspect of the industry. He held many positions throughout his 30 year career including flight attendant, ticket agent, cruise scheduler and cargo scheduler.

Marshall was loved and will be missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughters: Theresa Sergi and her husband, John, and Barbara Bryson and her husband, John; four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Martha. She passed November 24, 2013.

Funeral services will be held at Community Family Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at 11:00 AM. Family and friends may visit the funeral home Wednesday one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Beech Grove Cemetery, Muncie, Indiana. In lieu of flowers, and at the request of the family, please donate a tree in memory of Marshall.
