We celebrate the life of Marjorie A. Glaser, who passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021, at the age of 84.
Marjorie was born in Moreland, Indiana on July 3, 1936 to Carl and Hazel (Waters) Hawkins and she graduated from Moreland high school in 1954. After marrying Frederick C. Glaser, at the age of 21, she moved to California in 1958 and then to St. Louis, Missouri in 1967 where she raised her family.
Marjorie was an active member of the First Capitol Republican Women’s Club where she served as President and Secretary. She also served as Treasurer for the 2nd Congressional District in Missouri. She received the Women of Tribute award from the Missouri Federation of Republican Women. Marjorie loved volunteering for a worthy cause and was a generous contributor to many charities. She enjoyed shopping and traveling with her family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family and she cherished her grandchildren.
Survivors include her two children and their families: son, Ron Glaser (Patricia), Chesterfield, MO and daughter Allison (Kenny) Zika, O’Fallon, MO; 5 grandchildren, Karen (Alan) Horsley, Eric Glaser, Xander Zika, Zane Zika and Zaden Zika; 2 great-grandchildren, Evan and Emily Horsley. Also surviving is a sister, Marilyn (Charles) Miller, Hagerstown, IN, many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frederick C. Glaser in 1988, sister Judy Hambrock, her husband Art and their son Scotty.
Visitation will be 10am to 12pm on Saturday, April 24, 2021, at White Branch Church of the Brethren, Hagerstown. Services will follow at 12pm, with Pastor Brian Mackie officiating. Burial will follow in Brick Cemetery, Hagerstown.
