Marilynn Jean Wamsley Miller, 88, of Springersville, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Heritage House of Connersville.

Marilynn was born on May 20, 1933 in Fayette County, Indiana, to William and Ruby Cullins Wamsley, and she graduated from Connersville High School. She attended both Earlham and Miami University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Education. She ultimately earned a Masters Degree in Education from Ball State University. A beloved teacher, Marilynn taught for 28 years at Maplewood Elementary School in Connersville. She was also one of the first teachers to be inducted into the Fayette County Teachers Hall of Fame.

On March 23, 1950, she married Robert L. Miller in Connersville. Mr. Miller passed away on March 13, 2013.

Marilynn was a long time member of Eastside Methodist Church. She also participated in the Delta Kappa Gamma Society.

Survivors include five children, Cheryl (Mark) Stern of Springfield, Illinois, T. Steven Miller of Connersville, George (Jan) Miller of Connersville, Larry (Beth) Miller of Muncie, and Daniel (Regina) Miller of Florida; eleven grandchildren, Gabe (Krista) Stern of Austin, Texas, Josh (Erin) Stern of Springfield, Illinois, Cory Miller of Indianapolis, Indiana, Joani (Cory) Robinson of Milton, Indiana, Sara (Michael) Munchel of Cambridge City, Indiana, Olivia Miller of Wyoming, Reanna Miller of Muncie, Indiana, Nate (Veronica) Miller, Jackson Miller, and Michael Miller, all of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Kent (Debbie) Miller of Brown County, Indiana; and twelve great grandchildren, Zoe Stern, Eli Stern, Jacob Stern, Ethan Stern, Elise Miller, Carter Sullivan, Aidan Munchel, Savannah Munchel, Colton Miller, Christian Miller, D. J. Miller, and Wesley (April) Quinlan; and a great-great granddaughter, Mallory Quinlan.

Marilynn was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Robert L. Miller; two sisters, Eileen Irrgang and Phyllis Lambert; and four brothers, Claiborn “Clip” Wamsley, Lawrence Wamsley, Georgie Dean Wamsley, and Donald Wamsley.

Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until the time of service at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home with Pastor Rodney Barbee officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at a later date.
