Marilynn C. Pike, age 98, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Friends Fellowship Community. The Sunday Eucharist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, with The Rev. Dr. Barbara Anne Fisher presiding, was offered in Marilynn’s honor and in thanksgiving for her life.

Born April 16, 1923, in Lafayette, Indiana, to Leonard and Leora Lake Craig, Marilynn lived in Richmond most of her life. She graduated from New Castle High School, earned a bachelor’s degree in education from Indiana University, and received a master’s degree in counseling from Ball State University. Marilynn retired from Richmond Community Schools, where she taught English at Test Junior High School for over 30 years. Marilynn was a life-long member of the Episcopal Church, including being a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church for almost 80 years and a faithful member of her prayer group. She was also a member of Kappa Kappa Kappa and Alpha Chi Omega sorority.

Survivors include her special friends, Barry and Carolyn MacDowell of Richmond. Marilynn was also especially fond of Bridget and enjoyed holding her and giving her doggie treats.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Edwin L. Pike and parents.

A graveside service for Marilynn C. Pike will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 19, 2021, at Lutherania Cemetery, 2001 Liberty Avenue, Richmond with The Rev. Dr. Barbara Anne Fisher officiating. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
