Lorraine Catherine “Kitty” Fitzgibbons, age 79, of Richmond, Indiana died Wednesday morning August 25, 2021 at Reid Hospital. She was born in Brooklyn, New York on September 26, 1941 to William and Elizabeth Dargie.
She was a 1959 graduate of Richmond High School. Kitty worked at Alcoa where she met her husband Richard “Dick” Fitzgibbons to whom she was married for 23 wonderful years. She then was a stay-at-home Mom and Seton School lunchroom and library volunteer. She retired from Target then spent many years volunteering in the St. Andrew Catholic office helping to count the weekly offering. Kitty led a humble and unpretentious life. She was an avid reader who could read through a stack of books in a week. Her family and grandchildren were her life’s joy.
Survivors include daughter Kathryn (David) Tackett of Richmond, IN, son Richard (Andrea) Fitzgibbons of Alabama; grandsons William Tackett and Noah Fitzgibbons; numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Kitty is preceded in death by: her sisters Joan Doerflein, Lillian “Lolly” Richardson, and Audrey Hoffenbacher. Brothers: William “Bud” Dargie and Robert Dargie.
A Liturgy of Christian burial will be held on Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at 11 am at St. Andrew Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Glen Haven Memorial Gardens. Friends may call from 5-7 pm Monday, August 30th at Riggle-Waltermann Mortuary.
