Lois Jean Wilbur, age 81, of Richmond, Indiana, died Thursday, August 12, 2021, at Ascension St. Vincent Seton Specialty Hospital in Indianapolis.
Born May 11, 1940, in Richmond, Kentucky, to Irvine and Macie E. Caudill Hensley, Lois had lived in Richmond, Indiana, since her childhood. She was a graduate of Richmond High School. Lois retired from Alcoa in 2001, where she made aluminum bottle caps. Lois was a member of First Christian Church in Richmond. She was also a member of the Red Hat Society, Beta Sigma Phi sorority, and the Alcoa bowling league. Lois enjoyed shooting guns, archery, and fishing. She loved to travel.
Survivors include her children, Kim (Ray) Hunsinger of Richmond, Indiana, Kathi (Bob) Shock of Ossian, Indiana, Sherrill (Scott) Haas of Liberty, Indiana, Mike Wilbur of Richmond, Indiana, Jeff (Amy) Kemper of Ossian, Indiana, and Tonya (Mark) Howe of Goshen, Indiana; 16 grandchildren, Raymond, Josh, Mike, Ben, Kyle, Rick, Casey, Kristina, Rodney, Brooke, Ashley, Cassie, Libby, Gabe, Matthew, and Michael; 24 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Fredrick C. Wilbur; grandson, Brent Lee Bragg; parents; and furry companion, Zoe.
A graveside service for Lois Jean Wilbur will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 17, 2021, at Earlham Cemetery, 1101 National Road West, Richmond. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
