Lewis Austin Morris, age 52, of New Castle, passed away at his home on November 24, 2021. He was born February 22, 1969, a son of Charles and Irene Morris.
Lewis was a 1987 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. While in high school, he played baseball, football, and participated in wresting. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Greenville College where he played baseball as well. He then earned his master’s degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. He was a fan of the Cincinnati Reds and the great Johnny Bench. He enjoyed golf, spending time with his family, and was incredibly charitable to his family and friends throughout his life. His daughter Samantha, or “Suze” as he called her, was his absolute pride and joy, and he loved her very much.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Samantha Morris (fiancé, Austin Howell); two sisters, Karen Morris (wife, Amy Moster), Kathy McCubbins (husband, Mike); one brother, Bill Morris (wife, Tracey); two nieces, Keri McCubbins, and Courtney Pollitt; one nephew, Charlie Morris; a great-niece, Makayla; a great-nephew, David, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive. His cherished best friends include Marc Hancock, Kelly Bush, Mike Hicks, and Kimberly McCormick. He also had cherished his four-legged friends, Aryn and the late Eve Morris
He is preceded in death by his father, Charles Morris and his mother, Irene Morris of New Castle.
Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m., Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Macer-Hall-Marcum Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow at Batson Cemetery. Friends may call from 10:00 until service time Tuesday at the funeral home. Funeral directors and staff are honored to serve the Morris family.
