Keiffer Duane (“D”) Moorman, 85, of Crossville, TN passed away Wednesday, May 19, 2021 in Crossville, TN.

He was born on December 24, 1935 in Richmond, IN, son of the late Keiffer Moorman and Wilhelmina (Coates) Thurston.

Duane owned and ran two Standard Oil service stations in Richmond, IN for 14 years, Kiddie Kastle children’s clothing stores in Tequesta and Stuart, FL for 18 years, and Creekside Tubing and Snack Bar in Bryson City, NC for 11 years. He loved to travel – camping in the state and national parks all over the country and visiting Jamaica and other Caribbean islands. He loved working on his train layout, time at the beach, fishing in Red Lake, Ontario, and spending time with family and friends.

Duane is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeannette Moorman of Crossville, TN; son Scott Moorman (Imelda) of Charlotte, NC; daughters, Tammy Mukoda (Dave) of Wilmington, DE and Dawn West of Long Beach, WA; grandchildren, Nicole Mukoda, Aaron Mukoda (Tess), Alex West, Tyler West, and Jackie Fallar; great-grandchildren, Frankie Fallar, and Nova Mukoda; brother William Moorman of Indianapolis, IN and sister Kathy Walker (Mike) of Liberty, IN; brother-in-laws Ron Thornburgh (Ruth Ann) of Crossville, TN and Keith Thornburgh (Karol) of Tarpon Springs, FL; and beloved dog Maddie.

Oak Lawn Funeral Home in Sparta is in charge of arrangements. Memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Bread of Life Rescue Mission (breadofliferescue.org) or the American Heart Association.
