Kathleen Clark Jessee Lykins, 99, of Connersville died peacefully on Thursday, October 14, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.
Kathleen was born to Zenas and Bertha Plank Clark on August 15, 1922 in Rowan County, Kentucky. She was a faithful employee at Ford from which she retired in 1984. Kathleen was a member of Western Avenue Baptist Church. Kathleen meticulously tended to her flowers which covers the majority of her property. She liked taking road trips with her son-in-law, playing corn hole and collecting baby dolls. In addition, she enjoyed word searches, coloring in her adult coloring books and sitting on her front porch. Above all, she loved spending time with her family. She will be remembered for her wonderful sense of humor and will be deeply missed by all whom love her.
Kathleen is survived by her sons: Harry Jessee and his wife, Betty of Fairfield, Garry Jessee of Connersville; daughters: Charlotte Stidam and her husband, Marvin, Judy Thompson and James, Sara Burris and Phil all of Connersville, Mary Lou Sparks and James of Fort Pierce, Florida, Brenda Jessee and her canine companion, Nikko; Jamie Witkemper and her husband, Dan all of Connersville; three bonus children: David, Eddie and Bonnie; son in law: Gary Williams; twenty-five grandchildren; forty-four great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
In 1941 Kathleen married the father of her children: James R. Jessee whom preceded her in death in 1963; In addition to James, Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents; second husband: Carl C. Lykins Sr., whom she married in 1972.; sons: Keith Jessee, Carl Lykins Jr.; daughters: Janet Williams, Vicki Jessee; brothers: Harry Clark, Joe Clark, Eugene Clark; sisters: Betty Jones, Ethel McClurg, Patty Colter; granddaughter: Chas; great-grandchildren: Bethany and Scott.
A funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at Showalter Blackwell Long, Myers Chapel, Connersville with Tim Thompson officiating. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery. Friends may visit the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made Alzheimer’s Association in Kathleen’s honor.
