Joe Billy Mayberry, 80, of Richmond, Indiana was born on July 15, 1940 in Centerville, Tennessee. On Tuesday, January 12,2021 Joe was called home to join the Lord and his family that preceded him in death.

Joe was a graduate of O.H. Bernard High School in Hickman County, Tennessee. He went on to continue his studies at Tennessee State until he went to serve in the United States Army. Honorably discharged and after completing his tour he decided to rejoin with his two brothers , Thomas (T.C.) & Maceo in Richmond, Indiana.

Residing in Richmond; Joe lived a fruitful life. He was gainfully employed at Belden Wire & Cable retiring after 40yrs. Joe also fathered many children, eventually marrying Pamela Johnson the mother of two of his children.

He was the founder and President of the Richmond Road Runners M.C. and was known as “Big Red.” Those were some of his favorite times; socializing, riding with his motorcycle club and meeting up with his brothers T.C. and Maceo to have a few drinks. Joe was a lifelong member of the American Legion Post #395 and a member of the Elks Onyx Lodge.

Joe was a stern, sometimes stubborn man, but loving father. He believed in working hard for what you want in life. He loved all his children and adored his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife Pamela Johnson Mayberry, his parents Antonio and Margie Tyler Mayberry, his sisters, Beatrice Smith, Margaret Ghant, Ruby Wells, Elise Miller, his brothers, Thomas (TC) & Maceo Mayberry and his son Torrie Joe Mayberry

Joe leaves to cherish his memory two sisters Mildred (Marvin) Setzer & Wilma Corley. He also leaves his remaining eight children: Sean (Scarlett) Mayberry, Thomas Wright, Gregory (Michelle) Wright, Cassandra Wright, Cedric Wright, Tamara Holland, Joe Mayberry, Mattea (Frank) Quisenberry-Deloney. Joe also leaves a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and some close amazing friends.

Calling hour will be on Thursday January 28, 2021 from 10am-11am at Community Family Funeral Home, with a service to follow at 11am.
