Jan Carol Ellson Piercy passed away in her home Tuesday, May 18, 2021 with her faithful Schnauzer, Rosie was by her side. She had been in failing health the last few years.
She was born August 17, 1944 in New Castle and had spent her early years on the farm in Mooreland with her grandparents, Ott and Pauline Jester and great-grandparents, Alice and Gray Jester. She often reminisced of those days.
Jan was a 1963 graduate of Chrysler High School and married her high school sweetheart, Garvie Piercy. She loved to knit while her children were small. She also enjoyed modeling. Later in life, she and her children moved to California where she held a position for 20 years as an Anthem District Agent for the Sacramento area. She developed her love for Schnauzer dogs and raised them for many years.
She is survived by her children, Wyn Barnette and Van Piercy and their families. Also survived by her family William O. Ellson, Mrs. Shirley Ellson, Mrs. Rick (Cheryl) Land, Mrs. Gerry (Janice) Yanos, Mrs. Victor (Michelle) Goudy; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Janice J. Ellson; stepfather, William L. Ellson; a brother, Michael D. Ellson; a nephew, Mark Ellson; a niece, Reece Eilar Land.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m., Saturday, May 22, 2021 at Green Hills Memory Garden with Father John Hall officiating.
