James “Jim” Mack Bowman, 82, of Hagerstown passed away Monday December 27, 2021 at Stonebrook Rehabilitation Center in New Castle. He was born on September 23, 1939 in rural Hagerstown, the oldest son of the late Paul and Marie (Chamberlain) Bowman.

“Jim” was a proud employee of Dana Corporation Perfect Circle Division of Hagerstown for nearly forty years, missing only 1 day of work in his entire career. After his retirement, he was passionate about his second career as a caring and proud bus driver for 15 years for the students of Blue River Valley Schools.

He was a steadfast and devoted husband and father.

Survivors include 2 sons, Eric Bowman and wife Diana (Gaw) of Hagerstown, and Cameron Bowman and wife Christine (Barney) of Xenia Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Meghann (husband Shibu Thannikkunnath), Matthew, Mallory, Lindsay (fiancé Derrick Coleman) and Briannan; 5 brothers, Phil, Steve, Timothy, Donald and Richard; 3 sisters,  Margaret, Jane, and Miriam. He is also survived by Shirley M. (Ringeisen) Bowman, his loving wife who was his true love and God given helpmate in his walk with Christ and walk through life for 61 years.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents Paul and Marie (Chamberlain) Bowman and three sisters Kathy Pierce, Virginia Bowman, and Priscilla Davis.

Visitation will be 12 noon to 1:00 PM on Friday, December 31, at Nettle Creem Church of the Brethren.  Services will follow at 1:00 PM.  Burial will be in Brick Cemetery.
