Jack L. Hill, age 75, Richmond, passed away on January 7, 2021 at Reid Hospital. Jack was born to David and Martha (Schlegel) Hill on January 16, 1945 in Anderson, Indiana. He graduated from Fountain City High School in 1963 and married his love, Mabel Keffer on January 21, 1966 at First Baptist Church in Richmond, Indiana.
Jack held several different careers throughout his life, beginning with Kemper Brother’s (cabinetry). He then went on to work at Perfect Circle, Smith Dairy (Wayne Dairy), Natco, Imperial Products (Quanex), Shopping Mall Security Officer (part-time) and Menards as a part-time stocking employee. Jacks hobbies included birdwatching and trains. He enjoyed CB radios in his older days with his handle being the “Ice Cream Man”. He liked to pitch horseshoes and to bowl and was involved in several leagues and tournaments. He dearly loved watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow.
Jack is survived by his wife Mabel, his children Kim Hill, Greg (Cheryl) Hill, Kathy (Jeff Anderson) Wood, Debbie Ramey, his brother Steve (Carol) Hill, grandchildren Corey Karn, Alex Hill, Cierra Wood, Brandon (Lindsey Hildebrand) Wood, David Wood, Nelson Thomas, Eric Thomas; greatgrandchildren Sophia McKee, Avery McKee, Adalynn McKee, Audrey Brown, Keegan Wood and Ryland Wood; nieces Tonya Conner and Sheila Sebring and several close friends and cousins including special friend from the 1st grade Alton Hale. He is proceeded in death by his parents David and Martha and his infant brother Larry Joe Hill.
A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial in Glen Haven memorial gardens will be private. Visitation will be from 12:00 P.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Friday January 15, 2021 at Riggle – Waltermann Mortuary. Per the family’s request, please wear a mask.
