Hazel Geneva Prince, 92, of New Castle, passed away Thursday, December 9, 2021, at Henry Community Health.

She was born September 27, 1929, in Livingston, Tennessee, a daughter of the late James Martin and Nancy Jane (York) Walker.

Geneva was a devoted mom and grandma. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, attending family reunions, watching her favorite shows, Matlock, Murder She Wrote, and Andy Griffith, and playing cards with her best friend, Lois. Her care and concern for others extended to animals as well as she was always feeding the stray cats of the neighborhood.

Those left to cherish Geneva’s memory include seven sons, Terry Prince, Ray (Becky) Prince, Paul Prince and Roger (Betty) Prince all of New Castle, Dennis (Margaret) Prince of Virginia, Lee Walker, and Robert (Kim) Prince both of New Castle; four daughters, Mary (Lee) Keesling of New Castle, Fern (Ernest) Brown of Sulphur Springs, Shirley (Bruce) Smith and Wilma York all of New Castle; a daughter-in-law, Doris Prince of New Castle; grandchildren, Tracy Prince, Jenny Prince, Ryan (Mandy) Prince, Joshua (Katie) Prince, Jodi (Matt) Laurie, Angelia (Matt) Carter, Nathaniel (Angel) Prince, Catherine (Andrew) Culton, Lauren (Matt) Jackson, Danielle Prince, Brook Keesling, Rachel Prince, Karlee Prince, Roger Prince II, Gabby Carter, and Jared Pelfrey; 20 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; a niece and several nephews, and her very best friend of 50 years, Lois Witham.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Roy Prince; sons, Richard and Roy “Steve” Prince; grandson, Billy Prince; a great-granddaughter, Eleanor Jackson; two sisters, May Marlow and Magdeline McCormick; two brothers, Willie Walker and Charles Walker; a daughter-in-law, Darlene Prince, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, December 13, 2021, at Sproles Family Funeral Home with Pastor Danny Douglas officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens.
