Harold Van Winkle, age 90, of Richmond, Indiana, died Friday, August 13, 2021, at Arbor Trace.

Born May 18, 1931, in Jackson County, Kentucky, to Nelson P. and Ella Mae See Van Winkle, Harold lived in Richmond most of his life. He retired as a supervisor from Kemper Cabinets. Harold was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He loved carpentry and woodworking and had built two houses for his family. Harold also enjoyed working on cars. He was known as a Jack-of-all-trades to his family.

Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Marcia Sue Hartman Van Winkle; children, Debbie (Jim) Daugherty of Richmond, Nelson (Cheryl) Van Winkle of Crown Point, Indiana, and Sheri (Dave M.) Hickman of Eaton, Ohio; grandchildren, Ryan (Melissa) Daugherty of Westfield, Indiana, Kyle (Katie) Van Winkle of Crown Point, Joel (Shayla) Van Winkle of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Matthew (Jordan) Hickman of Richmond, and Micah (Stacey) Hickman, Josh Hickman, and Allie Hickman, all of Eaton; great-grandchildren, Isaiah and Eli Hampton, Esther, Eden, Owen, Ellie, and Gabriel Hickman, and Auron Van Winkle; sisters, Verna Saylor of Franklin, Indiana, and Josephine Seaborn of Beavercreek, Ohio; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Jessica Hickman; father; mother and stepfather, Ella Mae and John C. Amyx; sisters, Vola Neeley, Dena Ross, and Lola Potters; and brothers, John, Charles “Bud”, and David Van Winkle.

Visitation for Harold Van Winkle will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Curt Nies officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
