Born December 23, 1942, in New Castle, Indiana, to Albert P. “Smitty” and Wilma Lee Stone Smith, Ellen lived in Richmond most of her life. She retired from J&J Packaging in Brookville, Indiana, in 2005. Ellen was a member of Oak Park Pentecostals for many years, where she loved the saints of the church and worshipping the Lord. Ellen had been married three times, including her first husband, Buddy Waterman, second husband, Floyd Sekse, and third husband, Duane Brubaker.
Survivors include her children, Timothy Waterman of Oklahoma, Tonia Sekse of Richmond, Jill (Leo) Sekse Fannin of Williamsburg, Indiana, Melinda Sekse of Centerville, Indiana, and Mark (Debbie) Sekse of Richmond; grandsons, Alex Jones (Daminica) of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and Tim and John Waterman, both of Williamsburg; great-granddaughter, Amiliana Jones; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Allen Sekse; second husband, Floyd Sekse; and parents.
Visitation for Ellen Lee Brubaker will be from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Kevin Arthur officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
