Donald “Duke” William Davis, 37, of New Castle passed away Thursday, April 8, 2021 at I.U. Health Ball Memorial Hospital in Muncie. He was born January 22, 1984 to Donald Wayne and Brenda (Lewis) Davis.
He was a 2003 graduate of New Castle High School. Duke loved playing video games and playing on the computer. He enjoyed going on vacation to Florida and Gatlinburg with his family. He was a jokester and loved playing tricks on people. Duke had a passion for listening to music, country being his favorite. He enjoyed sitting outside under the shade tree reading books, magazines and watching cars go by. Duke spent special time with his sister while she pushed him around the block. He had a beautiful smile and never missed a basketball game at the high school.
Survivors include his parents of New Castle; sister, Sherry (Davis) Jordan of Spiceland; several cousins; great aunt, Ruth (Herschel) Upchurch of The Villages, Florida; and great uncles Cordell Carnes of Middletown and Homer Carnes and New Castle.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Don & Lois (Carnes) Davis; maternal grandparents, Billie & Sarah (Keith) Lewis; aunt, Linda Byers; and several great aunts & uncles.
The Davis family would like to give a special thank you to the many special nurses that have become close to Duke along the way.
Services will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 16, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Mark Herbkersman officiating. Burial will follow in South Mound Cemetery.
