Debra Kay Gilland, age 61, of New Paris, OH, passed away the morning of Tuesday, August 23, 2021.
Debbie was born in Richmond, IN, on June 7, 1960, to Larry and Marlene (Robinson) Wallace and spent her childhood in New Pairs, OH. She had lived in Richmond, IN, Bradenton, FL, and New Pairs, OH. She attended National Trail High School. She was a devoted daughter, a loving mother to 3 boys, and a proud grandmother; who cherished the time she spent with her family and friends.
It was a gift to have known her. Debbie was a unique individual, full of life, and was not afraid to be herself. She was a down-to-earth, independent person that took life head-on. She enjoyed passing her time playing cards and Aggravation with her best friend, her mom. She was an active member of the American Legion Post 360, where she planned holiday events and made lasting memories with friends and family.
She is survived by her three sons that she loved dearly, Stephen (Tara) Gilland Jr. of New Lebanon, OH, Carl (Bethany) Gilland, and Casey (Christina) Gilland of New Paris. Debbie was a loving grandmother of ten grandchildren, Lydia, Caitlyn, Caleb, Abigail, Bree, Guy, Josiah, Asher, Emma, and Kayla. Debbie is also survived by her loving brother George (Debbie) Delk of Richmond and sister Phyllis (Clint) Manlove of New Paris.
She is preceded in death by her parents Larry Wallace Sr. and Marlene Delk as well as her brother Michael Wallace.
A celebration of her life will take place Friday evening September 3, 2021, between 6:30 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. at The American Legion Post 360, 215 N Washington St, New Paris, OH 45347. Floral arrangements and/or donations can be delivered to the American Legion Post 360.
