Dean Kaylor, age 78, a New Castle resident, passed away Thursday, September 16, 2021 at his residence after fighting a two year battle with lung cancer. He was born June 9, 1943 in Richmond, Kentucky and was the son of Charles and Susie (Cox) Kaylor.
Dean worked as a mechanic for Boles Chevrolet in New Castle before retiring and then returning back into the workforce. He was a member of the American Legion of New Castle, Post 137. Dean was an avid fisherman and he enjoyed watching the Cubs play baseball. He especially enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Sherry Kaylor; three sons, Ronnie Dean Kaylor, Adam Wayne Kaylor and Jason Wade Kaylor, all of Lebanon, Indiana; two daughters, Laura Bennett and Debbie Robertson, both of New Castle, Indiana; a special friend, Derek Chapin of Anderson, Indiana; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren; six sisters, and four brothers; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Bennie Kaylor, and a son, Scott Wiley.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 22, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery.
