LEWISVILLE – David Rex Pierce, 82, went to be with the Lord on December 13th, 2021. David was born to the late George Washington and Greedle Florence (Smith) Pierce on September 26th, 1939.
Rex graduated from Lewisville High School in 1960, where he met and went on to marry his high school sweetheart, the former, Ruthanne Whitton, on October 9th, 1960. David was an owner/operator of G. W. Pierce Auto Parts in Muncie and Spiceland, from where he retired in 2015.
Rex enjoyed being with his family, working on old cars, playing basketball, and mowing on his farm.
Survivors include his daughter Angela Urove of Chesterfield, VA and his son, Brian (Courtenay) Pierce of Lewisville; six grandchildren, Allison and Caroline Urove of Chesterfield, VA, Cainan, Simon, Abe, and Malachi Pierce of Lewisville; one brother, Marion (Sandra) Pierce of Lewisville; many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Rex was preceded in death by the love of his life, Ruthanne Pierce on December 4th, 2018; seven brothers, Haskell, Bill, John, Benny, Bobby, Paul, and Dale Pierce; two sisters, Georgia Penticuff and Janice Blake.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday December 17th, 2021, at Marshall & Erlewein Funeral Home, Lewisville. Bob Pierce will be officiating. Burial will follow at Lewisville Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. on Thursday December 16th at Lewisville Funeral Home.
