Dallas G. Morgan of Centerville went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 11, 2021.
He was born May 9, 1939 in Richmond, to parents Carlton and Esther Morgan.
Dallas worked at Eavey’s Warehouse; he was an inspector and machinist at NATCO; he drove a school bus for 18 years; and logged millions of miles as an owner/operator truck driver.
Dallas loved listening to gospel music, talking to people and telling stories about those he’d worked with and places he had been. He had an uncanny memory and was able to retell specific details. To know Dallas, was to know his stories.
He was a born servant. Nothing would have kept him from being there. His greatest witness of Christ was seen in his endless acts of service.
His greatest joy was his family – especially his grandchildren. They carry memories of tractor driving, farming, haircuts, baseball games, racing and more. He was a farmer at heart, from childhood to this year’s harvest, he worked in farming operations, sharing his knowledge with his family and others. His earthly story ends with the impact of having lived his life for others, leaving a legacy of faith, love and kindness.
Dallas is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ramona Hoover Morgan, daughters Kathy (Mike) McDonald of Carmel; Elizabeth (Wayne) Ward of Cambridge City; Jeannine (Kevin) Winters of Greens Fork; sons David (Laura) Morgan of Carmel; and Steven Morgan of Centerville; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be private with arrangements handled by Community Family Funeral Home where condolences can be shared online. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Freedom Missionary Baptist Church in Richmond.
