Carletta S. Godsey, age 61, a New Castle resident, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2021 at her home. She was born July 5, 1958 in New Castle, Indiana, a daughter of the late James Okie and Edna May Stearnes Adkins.
She was a New Castle resident most of her life and was a graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. She loved family activities, especially sharing time with her grandchildren. Carletta enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, and taking her grandchildren on nature walks exploring God’s creation. She was also a big fan of all the “Survivor” shows on television.
Left to cherish her loving memory include her husband, John A. Godsey, whom she married June 27, 1977; three children, Brandon Godsey (companion, Heather), Feather Neal, Myra Dobbs (Caleb), all of New Castle; five grandchildren, Diamond and Kiana Voiles, Katlin Dobbs, Jonathon Prater, Carter Crowley; five siblings, Bill, Allen, Doug, Marvin, and Raymond Adkins; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws, Albert and Haltie Godsey.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum & Moffitt Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad Street, New Castle with Pastor Paul Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m., until service time Saturday at the funeral home.
