Buford C. Yockey, age 86, a resident of Spiceland, Indiana, passed away Saturday, December 4, 2021 at Henry Community Hospital. He was born February 17, 1935 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Fred and Mabel Eilar Yockey.
He was a New Castle resident most of his life and was a New Castle High School graduate. Buford owned and operated a transport business for over 67 years. He also worked 18 years for Westinghouse of Muncie and 2 years for A.B.B. in Delaware County. Buford enjoyed family activities and his family described “working” as his hobby.
Left to cherish his loving memory include his wife, Elizabeth Ann Yockey; four children, Curtis Yockey (Wendy) of New Palestine, In., Paul Yockey (Cindy) of New Castle, In., Nancy Roach of Cambridge City, In., and DeWayne Yockey (Amanda) of Greenfield, In; six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; one sister, Joy Constantino of New Castle; one brother, Calvin Yockey (Kay) of New Castle. Several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Friday, December 10, 2021 at Macer-Hall-Marcum Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle. Burial will follow at Brick Cemetery, North Brick Church Road in Hagerstown, In. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m., until service time Friday at the funeral home.
