Brian “Jay” Wallen, 53 of Mooreland passed away Friday, April 9, 2021 at Henry Community Health in New Castle. He was born January 26, 1968 in New Castle, Indiana.

Jay was employed at QFI Corporation and formerly employed at Hy-Flex Corp. A self employed construction worker, he had also worked for Ernest Mills Farm. Jay was a member of VFW and a former member of Moose & Eagles Lodges, all in New Castle. He loved his dogs Skinnard & Sissy. Jay enjoyed singing karaoke and was a very kind person who would give you the shirt off his back.

Survivors include his daughter, Ashley (Derick) Wallen of New Castle; son, Brian Luke Wallen of New Castle; four grandchildren, Payten, Johnathan, Shayla & Bobby-Jay; his father, Willie Wallen of Monticello, Kentucky; two brothers, Tony Wallen of Mooreland and Nathan (Julie) Wallen of Hagerstown; sister, Virginia Shawn Wallen of Tacoma, Washington; two step brothers, Mike Robinson of DePaul and Kenny Robinson of Muncie; two uncles, Paul Lowe of New Castle and Keith (Mechelle) Wallen of Kokomo; and several nieces & nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia J. (Lowe) Wallen and stepmother, Christine C. Wallen.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Monday, April 12, 2021 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Mooreland Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of services on Monday.
