Betty Lou Vail Thornberry, 82 of Connersville went to be with the Lord on December 7, 2021. Betty was born July 20, 1939, to the late William Vail and Fannie Thornton Vail.
On January 8, 1955, Betty married Charles “Dink” Thornberry in Fayette County. They were able to spend 64 years together before he passed away on September 16, 2019.
Betty worked at Visteon in Connersville for 28 years prior to her retirement in 1999. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Connersville.
She will be deeply missed by her children Sheila (Chris) Hurst, and Charles “Chuck” Thornberry and her brother, Charles “Dink” (Sherry) Vail.
Her memories will be cherished by her five grandchildren Lendell Ervin, Tiffany (Eric) Richardson, Jennifer (Chris) Bottomley, Cora (Trent) McIntyre, and Cara (Rod) Pittenger. She will also be remembered by her eight great grandchildren Tristan and Travis McIntyre, Noah McCullum, Kendra, Harlie and Lana Richardson and Rylee and Caden Pittenger.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents, beloved husband, her daughter Vickie Jo Thornberry McIntosh; brothers: Henry, Robert, William, David and Melvin Vail, and sisters, Annabelle Gaddis and Mary Sheirs.
Services for Betty will be held at the convenience of the family. Urban Winkler Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the family with arrangements.
