Betty Jean Klotz, 95, of New Castle, formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away peacefully on the morning of Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Danbury Senior Living Huber Heights in Dayton, OH.

She was born on July 14, 1925 in Fort Wayne, a daughter of the late Raymond “Harry” and Esther (Strahm) Gibson.

Betty worked for many years as Director and Production with the First Nighters Civic Theatre and later retired from the New Castle School System. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority and faithful member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Betty enjoyed the beach, theatre and a good glass of wine.

Those left to cherish her memory include her children, Cynthia (husband: Mike) Worthington of Dayton, OH, Molly Bryan of Jacksonville, FL, Todd (wife: Tracy) Klotz Sr. of New Castle and adopted daughter and former AFS student, Fusae Jotaki; grandchildren, Katie (husband: Jason) West, Sarah Bryan, Bekah (husband: Royce) Hollingsworth, Todd “TK” Klotz II, Eric Klotz, Ethan (wife: Libby) Klotz, Stephanie (husband: Mark) Stutzman and Ned (wife: Kim) Klotz III; eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Ned E. Klotz I; son, Ned E. Klotz II; sister, Virginia Franz and brother, Patrick “Bud” Gibson.

Memorial contributions may be offered to the Holy Trinity Lutheran Church or the Henry County Humane Society.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, February 13, 2021 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Matthew Masko officiating. Burial will follow at Green Hills Memory Gardens.
