Betty Jane Waltz, 91, of Hagerstown, Indiana went to be with her beloved husband Bill on February 9, 2021, after passing away at Golden Rule Nursing Home, Hospice Care of Richmond, Indiana.  Betty was born May 11, 1929 in Rush County, Indiana to the late William W. and Edith (Davis) Brumfield.  She was a 1947 graduate of Raleigh High School. Betty married the love of her life William C. Waltz on March 12, 1966. He passed away on March 7, 2009.

Betty worked for Dana Corp. until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of Dana’s 25 year Club, American Legion and First United Methodist Church in Hagerstown, Indiana.  She enjoyed her collections of Longaberger Baskets, Boyd’s Bears and Pfaltzgraff Dishes. Betty also loved craft shows, yard sales and going out to eat with her many friends and family.

Survivors left to cherish her memory are her children, Mike (Missy) Smith of Hagerstown, Debbie Davis of Richmond and Mark Smith of New Palestine; granddaughter, Katie (Jacob) Miller of Muncie; sister, Patty (Richard) Coffman of Lewisville; brother in-law, Roger Waltz, Milford Michigan; sisters in-law, Sandy Waltz of Doraville, Georgia, Kathy (Mike) Davis of Richmond, Jennifer (Mark) Mendenhall of Economy; several nieces, nephews and an abundance of special friends.

Betty was preceded in death by her great grandchild, Charles Michael Leber; brothers, Wayne and Harold Brumfield; sisters, Thelma Proctor, Janice Wooldridge and Ruthann Brumfield; Extended family, Ralph and Eleneida Waltz, Ralph Waltz Jr., Fred (Faye) Waltz, Maria Waltz; niece, Dawn Huddleston and nephew, John Waltz; her best friends, Marilynn Hensley, Betty Knipp, Eileen Kern and Doris Lilley.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Visitation for Betty from 12:00 p.m. noon until the time of Memorial Services at 2 p.m. on Monday February 15th at the First United Methodist Church, Hagerstown, Indiana. Pastor John Huff will officiate.  Burial will follow at West Lawn Cemetery in Hagerstown, Indiana for the family.  As a reminder face masks and social distancing are required.
